Through augmented reality, AR, it made possible for players to "hunt" virtual Pokémons anywhere, using an app on their cell phone.
The world of augmented and virtual reality is actually here, not only in video games, but also in some surroundings that simulate a three-dimensional environment, in which the user perceives, through stimuli from all senses; and also in some social networks, applications for education and training, etc.!
This is a set of technological disruptions (disruption: abrupt modification of the usual ways of doing things), to which the world's largest companies are aiming, such as the former Facebook, which changed its name to “Meta”, to signify the importance and inevitability of its installation.
By its nature, metaverse will generate consequences never seen before in the real world, as we have always known it.
Judging by the triggering of events, what is really unprecedented is the speed with which it is being imposed in all fields of human activity, the billions of dollars being invested and the staggering number of people involved.
Which allows us to assume that, in a very short time, its different aspects will be incorporated in almost all areas of reality, with unimaginable consequences in the way we work, study, commerce, entertain, travel, take care of our health, etc.
Some information is so confusing and contradictory, that it is necessary to clean it up and express it in simple and understandable terms, for those of us who are not computer specialists.
